The specialism
Therapists, practitioners and training academies
More than half the websites I have built, over fifty of them, are for the wellness world. It is far and away the sector I know best, and it shows in how quickly these builds go and how few questions I need to ask. Here are five of them.
Practitioner training
LCCH International
The London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy, an accredited training institution running practitioner diplomas, medical diplomas and masterclasses, in London and live online.
A full course catalogue with enrolment, a student login area, an alumni community, lecturer profiles, prospectus downloads, open day registration and a blog, all of it needing to feel like a serious professional college rather than a course marketplace.
- Course catalogue with online enrolment and payment
- Student login and alumni area
- Prospectus downloads and open day booking
- Accreditation badges (BSCH, IMDHA) shown throughout
Practitioner training
Spirit Release Academy
A training academy certifying practitioners in Spirit-Guided Remote Spirit Release worldwide: courses, certification, a resource library and a public practitioner directory.
The most interesting problem here was that the site serves three groups at once: people looking for a therapist, people wanting to train as one, and qualified practitioners who already have a login. Each gets its own route from the top navigation, so nobody has to work out which one they are.
- Course sales, certification and student enrolment
- Public “find a practitioner” directory
- Members’ area and resource library behind a login
- Consultation call booking for prospective students
Therapy practice
Frequency Hypnotherapy
A single-practitioner hypnotherapy practice delivering sessions remotely over Zoom, with booking, intake forms and payment handled online.
The opposite end of the scale from the two academies above, and a good example of what most practitioners actually need: one obvious action on every screen, therapies explained plainly enough for someone who has never had hypnotherapy, and the money taken before the appointment rather than chased afterwards.
- Online booking with intake forms
- Basket and payment taken before the session
- Service pages written for complete newcomers
More wellness work
Two established practitioners
Both work remotely with clients worldwide, and both needed a site that does two jobs at once: book clients, and enrol trainees.
Therapy & training
Jonno Webster
Twenty years of reputation split across one-to-one healing work and professional certification training. Two audiences, two routes: clients book sessions, practitioners book four-day certification courses. Member login, free downloadable guides and IPHM accreditation throughout.
Therapy practice
Andy Porter
A practitioner working remotely with clients on every populated continent. The clever part is the second, lower-commitment entry point: a “spiritual health check” for people not yet ready to book a full session. Plus a shop, free meditations, a podcast and live streams.
Beyond wellness
The rest of the shelf
Same approach every time, whatever the trade: work out what the visitor needs to do, then remove everything standing between them and doing it.
Hospitality
The Walnut Tree Inn
A charming traditional family pub in Mere, Wiltshire. Pubs have an unusually wide job online: dinner, three guest rooms, function enquiries and “are you dog friendly?” The number and Book a Table stay fixed in the header on every page and every screen size.
Recruitment
We Need A Chef
A chef recruitment agency near Bath. Two opposite audiences land on the same homepage: kitchens that need a chef today, and chefs looking for work, so the site forks immediately into two application routes, with emergency contact above the fold.
Recruitment
Cotswold Chefs
Sister agency to We Need A Chef, supplying temporary chefs across the Cotswolds, over 60 clients placed in twelve months. A deliberately single-page site: one clear pitch, one route to enquire, nothing to get lost in.
Property
Corsham Office Rentals
Leafield Hub, a family-run centre letting flexible offices, studios and treatment rooms in Corsham. A separate page per space type, so someone hunting for a therapy room and someone hunting for a ten-desk office both land somewhere relevant.
Pets & training
Mind Body Dog Training
A dog training business with class booking and a client login area. The site is in maintenance mode while it is updated, so the screenshot above shows the holding page rather than the finished design.
E-commerce
Adult wellness retailer
Technically the most involved build here: a full online shop carrying several hundred products, with age verification on entry, customer accounts, wish lists, basket and checkout, multi-currency pricing, vendor filtering, a free-shipping threshold and discreet-packaging messaging throughout.
Listed without a name or a link out of consideration for the other audiences reading this site. Happy to walk you through it properly on a call.
Across seven sectors
The trade changes. The problem doesn’t.
Fifty-odd therapy practices, a hypnotherapy college, a country pub, a chef agency and an office hub all want the same three things from a website: be found, be believed, be contacted.
Booking-led
Therapists, hypnotherapists, pubs, dog trainers. Fill the diary without the phone tag.
Course & membership
Training academies and colleges. Enrolment, student areas, directories and accreditation.
Enquiry-led
Recruitment, office lettings, functions. Fewer fields, faster answers, forms that arrive.
Full e-commerce
Hundreds of products, accounts, multi-currency, age gating, and a checkout that doesn’t lose people.
