Small business websites

A proper website for your business, without agency prices or agency nonsense. Over a hundred built in ten years. One person builds it, and that same person answers the phone afterwards.
Who this is for

If customers need to find you, believe you and get in touch

Salons, barbers and beauty. Coaches and consultants. Driving instructors, dog groomers, photographers, accountants, cleaners, garages, cafes, clubs and shops.
The trade barely matters. The mechanics are the same every time: turn up in local search, look established enough to be trusted, and make getting in touch effortless.
What changes is which of those three you’re weakest at, and that’s the conversation we have before I quote you anything.

You’re probably in the right place if…

What you get

Everything, and nothing you don’t need

A site that looks the part

Designed around your business rather than dropped into a template three of your competitors are also using.

Built for phones first

Most of your visitors are on a phone, standing up, in a hurry. That’s the screen I design for, then scale up.

Found in local search

Proper titles, descriptions and headings, plus your Google Business Profile set up or tidied, usually the fastest win available.

Enquiries that arrive

Forms that reach your inbox reliably, tap-to-call on every page, and a clear next step wherever somebody lands.

Bookings and payments

If your business runs on appointments or sells anything, both can be built in from the start rather than bolted on later.

Looked after afterwards

Hosting, domain, email, backups, security updates and someone to ring. This is where most cheap websites quietly die.
How it works

Four steps, and only one of them needs you

1

A conversation

Twenty minutes about your business, your customers and what you want more of. No jargon, no sales script.
2

A fixed price

I tell you what it will cost and how long it will take, in writing, before anything begins. That number doesn’t move.
3

I build it

You see it as it comes together and change whatever you like. I’ll draft the words if writing about yourself makes you wince.
4

It goes live

Domain, email, security, Google, all set up properly. Then I look after it and you get on with the actual job.
What it costs

Fixed price. Told to you first. No creep.

A build fee plus a monthly amount covering domain, hosting, email, backups, security and support. You’ll know both numbers before you commit to anything.
I’m not the cheapest option and I won’t pretend to be. What you get for the difference is one person who knows your business, answers the phone, and is still here in three years.
If a £20-a-month website builder genuinely suits you better, I’ll tell you that too. It happens.

No surprises, specifically

Questions

Straight answers

It depends entirely on what it needs to do. A five-page site for a local service business is a very different job from a shop with three hundred products. Ring me, describe it in plain English, and I’ll give you a real number rather than a range designed to get me in the door.

You can, and for some businesses that’s a perfectly sensible answer. What you’re really buying from me is the time you won’t spend, the decisions you won’t have to make, and having someone to ring when it breaks at half past four on a Friday. If your business is simple and you enjoy fiddling with it, save your money.

More common than you’d think. In most cases I can recover the domain and the site even without their cooperation, though it’s easier with it. Bring me whatever logins and emails you still have and I’ll work out where everything actually lives.

Yes. I’m in Wiltshire and Berkshire, but websites are built over the phone and email like everything else. Several of my clients I’ve never met in person.

You take everything with you. The domain is in your name, the site is standard WordPress, and I’ll hand over the files and logins without making it difficult. I’d rather you stayed because you want to.

Seamwork: AI, wired into the tools you already use

Most people who try AI ask it to write an email. That is about a tenth of what it can do. Seamwork wires it into the systems your business already runs on, so an enquiry can be read, logged, priced and passed to the right person before anybody has opened it.
Seamwork is part of Swarm ICT, run by me with Lewis and Ryan. Same way of working as everything else here: plain English, a fixed price agreed before we start, and I will tell you if you do not need it.
Built for businesses of two to five people. Setup is £750, half on booking and half once it is working. The first conversation costs nothing.

No obligation, no follow-up pestering. Just an honest opinion and a straight price.
